We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and organised agronomist to join our dynamic team. Reporting to the Business Development Manager, the main focus will be to develop strong relationship with our existing and expanding QLD network of farmers, distributors, rural industries and government by offering specialist training, support and techniques to increase productivity and crop quality.
The role is based in South East Queensland, about an hour north of Brisbane but requires regular travel within Queensland and if necessary, interstate. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong working relationships as well as providing trial assistance and be involved in product development and direct sales to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
· Train NTS Distributors on the benefits of NTS products and services, identifying key niche and opportunities.
· Offer ongoing support to NTS distributors and resellers including product updates, farm workshops, farm trials, walks, farm field days, information sessions, etc.
· Take part in the process of developing new strategies and opportunities for the biological agricultural market, including assessing competitor offerings and pricings.
· Advising farmers and farm managers on techniques and strategies for improving soil health, crop quality and yield.
· Take in-field soil and leaf test samples.
· Evaluate soil and leaf test results and provide suitable recommendations.
· Answer inquiries via email, phone or shop, and promote Nutrition Farming® techniques and NTS products where applicable.
· Assist in the education of Nutrition Farming® by taking part in the NTS courses including presentations, workshops and field days as required.
· Travel is a component of the position. The majority of travel is within Queensland.
· All NTS team members may be asked to perform tasks outside of their job description and may include general office tasks as required.
Experience & Skills - Essential:
· Degree or tertiary qualification in Applied Science with Agronomy, Agriculture or similar major.
· Minimum of 3 years Agronomy experience, Preferably in Queensland
· Have experience with dealing with wholesalers and distributors.
· Have experience in regenerative agriculture. Including strategies such as, cover cropping, biological control(IPDM), ground coverage management and livestock holistic management to mitigate chemical usage and improve Soil Organic Carbon.
· Sound knowledge in assessing soil attributes and constraints and recommending strategies and amendments based on Albrecht soil balancing principles.
· Sound knowledge of farming principles in general and the microbial dynamic in the soil systems and microbe brewing techniques.
· A high level of computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
· The ability to work reliably in an autonomous role.
Experience & Skills – Desirable:
· Previous experience as an agronomist in the South East QLD, Darling Downs Region and or Bundaberg region.
Pay: $75,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
