Responsible for providing professional HR support across the workshop, ensuring effective employee administration, workforce planning, employee relations, recruitment, performance management, training, and compliance with applicable Australian employment legislation and workplace policies.
Works closely with management, supervisors and workshop employees to support a productive, compliant and positive workplace environment.
The HR Adviser will also provide practical HR guidance appropriate to the automotive repair industry, including workforce requirements for mechanics, panel beaters, apprentices, trades assistants, administrative staff and other workshop personnel.
Tasks Include:
- arranging for advertising of job vacancies, interviewing and testing of applicants, and selection of staff
- maintaining personnel records and associated human resource information systems
- providing advice and information to management on workplace relations policies and procedures, staff performance and disciplinary matters
- arranging the induction of staff and providing information on conditions of service, salaries and promotional opportunities
- undertaking negotiations on terms and conditions of employment, and examining and resolving disputes and grievances
- studying and interpreting legislation, awards, collective agreements and employment contracts, wage payment systems and dispute settlement procedures
- developing, planning and formulating enterprise agreements or collective contracts such as productivity-based wage adjustment procedures, workplace relations policies and programs, and procedures for their implementation
Requirements:
- Relevant qualification in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management or related discipline; or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience in HR administration and employee management.
- Understanding of Australian workplace practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of confidentiality and professional judgement.
- Strong organisational and recordkeeping skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
Pay: $76,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
