Certex Lifting supplies lifting equipment, steel wire rope, height safety, and other lifting
solutions, alongside connected services including testing, maintenance, assembly, and
installation of lifting products for industrial applications in a wide range of industries.
The Role
As part of the Newcastle team, your role will include the inspection, assembly,
installation, and testing of lifting, rigging, and heigh safety equipment.
The role will require reasonable overnight travel and weekend work as required to
service the needs of our clients. Overtime and weekend work is paid at penalty rates.
A snapshot of the role includes:
- Assembly, inspection, testing, service, and installation of hoisting and rigging
systems and height safety equipment.
- General workshop duties, including maintaining a clean workshop.
- Maintaining records in testing and ERP software.
- Provide mentorship and quality oversight to junior field staff and trainee technicians,
reviewing their work to ensure proper execution of procedures and adherence to
workplace standards.
- Complete job documentation, service checklists, and compliance forms to record
details of inspections, faults, repairs, and client approvals.
- Carry out duties in elevated and restricted-access environments as needed, strictly
complying with safety procedures and using certified access and restraint systems.
What we are looking for
- At least 2 years of experience as a rigging and lifting equipment service technician,
including manufacturing, inspection, and testing of rigging systems, ideally including
wire rope.
- High Risk Work Licences including Forklift, Dogging and Basic Rigging (and willing
to obtain Intermediate Rigging), and Elevated Work Platform.
- A current, unrestricted driver’s license.
