The opportunity
As our Digital Roadmap Strategy continues to develop and grow, so does our ongoing focus on Cyber security and protection of our digital assets.
As a newly created position within the structure, the ICT Operations team are seeking a Cyber Analyst to provide frontline protection to cyber security risks that impact the business needs of Council.
Your role as Cyber Analyst will see you pro-actively maintaining controls and investigating events, ensuring that our cyber security services are reliable, fit for purpose, and constantly evolving with the threat landscape faced by Council.
Our ICT Operations team are lead by an ICT Operations Manager, built up of dedicated and customer-focused System Administrators, and a strong Service Desk Support team – all of which, you will be working alongside and partnering with to ensure our services provide a well-rounded threat management service. Outside of our team, you’ll be liaising closely with our external contact points with regard to vulnerability reports and our security landscape.
There is an expectation that this role would be rostered into our on-call service, shared amongst the team. This on-call service is to ensure that we can respond to system issues and concerns that have significant impact on the operation of Council. As the roster currently stands, you would be on-call typically once every 5 to 6 weeks, with flexibility to swap with other team members when required.
- This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement such as flexi-time
- Base Salary Range: $87,392 to $106,700 pa based on 35 hours / week + 12% superannuation + $2,464 retention allowance
- You will be working from PSC Administration Building, Raymond Terrace

- Tertiary or industry qualifications that demonstrates expertise and competency in the ICT discipline
- Experience that demonstrates expertise and competency in the ICT security discipline
- Experience operating enterprise cyber security tooling including endpoint protection, SIEM, firewall and data protection platforms
- Experience supporting a secure environmental operating on the Microsoft Windows platform
- Working knowledge of the Australian Signals Directorate Essential Eight, ISMS, and the NSW Cyber Security Policy, including the evidence and reporting expectations of each
