About the Role:

Sydney is a major hub for telecommunications and digital infrastructure in Australia, and at Helpline Digital & Telecom Support, we bring that same level of connectivity and reliability into every system we manage. We build and support enterprise-grade voice, data, and network solutions that keep businesses running without interruption.

We are looking for a Senior Network & Telecom Support Engineer (Tier 2–3) who can take ownership of complex technical environments. This is not a basic helpdesk role—you will be working across advanced networking, VoIP systems, and infrastructure support, acting as a key escalation point for critical issues.

You will bridge the gap between technical complexity and reliable service delivery, ensuring systems remain stable, secure, and high-performing. You will also play a key role in mentoring junior engineers and improving operational processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Advanced Technical Support:

Provide Tier 2–3 support for telecom, VoIP, and network infrastructure
Troubleshoot complex issues across SIP, PBX, and unified communications systems
Resolve high-priority incidents affecting business-critical services

Network & Infrastructure Management:

Support routing, switching, VPNs, and firewall environments
Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of services
Work with carriers and vendors to resolve connectivity issues

Incident Leadership:

Lead escalation handling for critical network and telecom incidents
Coordinate response efforts across internal teams and external providers
Ensure timely resolution and clear communication during outages

Mentoring & Collaboration:

Support and mentor junior engineers and service desk staff
Share technical knowledge and improve team capability
Contribute to internal documentation and process improvement

Continuous Improvement:

Identify system weaknesses and recommend infrastructure improvements
Assist in implementing upgrades, migrations, and service enhancements

What We Are Looking For:

Experience:

5+ years in network engineering, telecom support, or IT infrastructure roles
Strong background in Tier 2–3 technical support environments

Technical Expertise:

Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching)
Hands-on experience with VoIP systems (SIP, PBX, UC platforms)
Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security principles
Familiarity with enterprise or service provider environments

Tooling & Systems:

Experience with network monitoring and diagnostic tools
Exposure to cloud-based telecom or UCaaS platforms is highly valued

Certifications (Preferred):

Cisco (CCNA / CCNP or equivalent)
ITIL Foundation or similar service management frameworks

Mindset:

You are calm under pressure and structured in your troubleshooting approach
You think in systems, not just isolated issues
You take ownership and enjoy solving complex technical problems end-to-end

Pay: $10,200.00 – $13,750.00 per month
