The Opportunity
The Penicillin Team at The Kids Research Institute Australia conducts research to improve syphilis treatment and outcomes, working closely with health services, researchers and communities across Western Australia.
The SCIP Syphilis Project is investigating a more acceptable and accessible penicillin treatment option for syphilis. This role supports project delivery through study coordination, ethics and protocol development, stakeholder and community engagement, and the creation of culturally appropriate research materials.
Your key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Coordinate the delivery of the SCIP Syphilis Project and support broader Penicillin Team activities.
- Develop and maintain REDCap databases, study protocols, ethics applications and research documentation.
- Manage data collection, reporting and analysis to support high-quality research outcomes.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with communities and stakeholders through culturally secure engagement and co-design.
- Support project operations, including governance, compliance, budgeting, procurement, travel coordination and meeting administration.
Collaborate with internal and external partners to deliver project outcomes, communications and dissemination activities.

Based at our offices in Nedlands, this is a full-time role on a fixed-term one year contract.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- A post graduate degree in science, health or related field (or relevant qualification/ experience in the health and community sector).
- Experience coordinating research, clinical or public health projects.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Experience preparing ethics applications, protocols and study documentation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written communication, reporting and data management skills.
- A collaborative, proactive and culturally respectful approach to work.
