Isaac Regional Council is seeking a skilled Mobile Mechanical Fitter to join our Fleet Department in Nebo. Reporting to the Coordinator Plant & Workshops, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and servicing Council’s diverse fleet of vehicles, plant, and equipment - both in the workshop and out in the field. This role involves hands-on technical work carried out in accordance with manufacturer specifications, engineering standards, and established maintenance procedures.
To be successful in this position, you will have:
- At least three (3) years of relevant work experience
- Trade qualification in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology
- Experience in auto electrical repairs and field diagnostics
- Blue/White Card
- Current C Class Open Australian Driver’s Licence
- Ability to pass a pre-employment functional assessment
- Strong mechanical experience across light/heavy vehicles and heavy plant
- Welding and fabrication skills (highly regarded)
- Sound understanding of Workplace Health & Safety
- Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams
- Effective communication and organisational skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suites
Duties:
- Repair, recondition, assemble, and service mechanical equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications and instructions
- Repair or recondition customer and Council equipment following documented technical guidelines
- Conduct pre-delivery inspections and checks on new equipment as directed by manufacturer specifications
- Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out corrective maintenance activities
- Assist with testing, commissioning, and routine servicing of mechanical systems and equipment
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections performed
If you are successful in this position, you will receive:
- Position based in Nebo QLD
- Base Salary - $73,257.00 - $93,269.00 per annum (C10 – C3)
- Discretionary mark loading of $18,000 per annum in accordance with Council Policy

- Nominally 76 hours per fortnight – 4-day per week roster
