Full Job Description

About the position

The primary purpose of the position is to manage Council’s hospitality functions based in the Art Gallery Café with a focus on coordinating and facilitating hospitality training courses and work experience. The Hospitality Manager will oversee all aspects of Council’s hospitality functions to ensure they are commercially successful and provide high quality customer service.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the day to day café operations including ordering, inventory tracking, and stock rotation and manage budgets
Manage and lead the hospitality team including casual staff and work placement students to effectively manage the Art Gallery Training Cafe, to provide a high-quality hospitality offering to visitors and the community.
Devise and adjust seasonal menus and product offerings to meet market requirements and develop relationships with local providers to promote the use of local products
Provide a high-level of customer service in the delivery of hospitality functions to the community, patrons and students
Coordinate, schedule and promote a range of hospitality courses in partnership with training providers, Muswellbrook High School and other schools, TAFE and private businesses

About you

Certificate of Food Safety Supervisor or willingness to obtain and/ or Certificate II or III in Food Operations(Desirable)
Demonstrated at least five years experience operating a café or hospitality business, including managing budgets and stock handling
Demonstrated experience developing and monitoring food safety practices
Ability to develop and maintain relationships with training providers and educational institutions
Working with Children Check
Drivers License (Desirable)

Temporary full time, 35 hours per week, Term Contract up to December 2028
Salary from $87,349 to $94,259 per year (depending on qualifications, skills and experience) plus 12% superannuation
