Murrurundi Hospital (Wilson Memorial) is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join our dynamic and supportive team. Located in the picturesque Upper Hunter, Murrurundi is a welcoming rural community surrounded by rolling hills, national parks and rich equine heritage. Wilson Memorial Hospital provides a diverse and rewarding clinical environment, including an 8-bed inpatient unit, a 2-bed Emergency Department with a dedicated resuscitation bay and consultation room, and onsite pathology services twice a week. As part of our close-knit multidisciplinary team, you'll enjoy broad clinical exposure and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across a range of patient presentations. From your first day, you'll be supported by an experienced Clinical Nurse Educator, with a comprehensive orientation program, dedicated Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) training, and ongoing professional development designed to help you build your confidence and continue growing your skills.
What You Will Be Doing
As a Registered Nurse, you will provide safe, high-quality, person-centred care across both the Emergency Department and inpatient ward. Working as part of a collaborative interdisciplinary team, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care while responding to a wide variety of clinical presentations.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care across emergency and inpatient settings.
- Perform triage and provide emergency nursing care in accordance with recognised clinical guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the local medical team, Emergency Doctors and Virtual Care Admitting Doctors to coordinate timely, patient-centred care.
- Monitor, assess and respond to changes in patient condition, escalating care when required.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support positive patient outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation and contribute to a safe, high-quality healthcare environment.
About you
You are a confident and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys the variety that rural nursing offers. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrate sound clinical judgement and are passionate about delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
Essential Requirement
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
- Recent Emergency Department nursing experience.
- Demonstrated experience in emergency triage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work both independently and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team.
- A positive attitude, resilience and commitment to continuous learning.
