About the Role:
This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced clinician to coordinate and drive high-quality consumer care within a Mental Health Unit and/or Community Service. In this role, you will lead and support nursing and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring safe, consistent, and person-centred care delivery while overseeing local service coordination and resource management. You will play a key role in shaping team performance, strengthening clinical practice, and improving outcomes for consumers in a complex and rewarding practice environment.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Criteria
Registered Nurse with Nurse Practitioner registration (or eligibility) and a Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing or equivalent qualification.
At least 3 years’ post-registration experience with demonstrated competence in mental health nursing within a multidisciplinary service environment.
Proven leadership experience with strong communication, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and change management skills, including working independently and contributing to senior decision-making.
Experience in service management, including human and financial resource management, and a demonstrated ability to lead teams and improve service delivery outcomes.
Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, national standards, Aboriginal health needs, and culturally safe practice, with experience engaging Aboriginal consumers and communities.
Desired Criteria
Tertiary qualifications (Graduate Diploma or Master level) in mental health practice, health service management, or a related field are highly regarded.
Senior clinical and management experience, including leading teams, managing complex change, and overseeing financial, human, and asset resources within a healthcare setting.
Strong knowledge of health systems and governance, including the South Australian public health system, accreditation and quality processes, strategic planning, and use of clinical/management information systems.
