OUR TEAM
Our Munitions teams in Benalla and Mulwala produce propellants, explosives and munitions for defence and commercial uses. With ongoing investment into research and development, we produce some of the world’s most high-performing guided weapons and explosive ordnance systems. And being at the forefront of a rapidly evolving industry gives our teams constant opportunities to build on their technical expertise.
YOUR ROLE
Working from our Mulwala site on Yorta Yorta land, your role purpose is to commence and complete a registered apprenticeship in Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Boiler making/Welding) which is typically a 4-year apprenticeship.
Fabrication, boiler making and welding engineering tradespersons cut, shape, join and finish metal to make, maintain or repair metal products and structures.
Examine drawings or specifications to determine material and equipment requirements
Heat treat metal parts and components
Set up and operate hand and machine tools, and welding equipment
Assemble parts and structures by lining up and joining them by welding, bolting or riveting
YOUR EXPERIENCE
As a first-year apprentice, we'll expect you to bring the following skills and behaviours:
Genuine interest in gaining a trade qualification
Sound literacy and numeracy skills
Ability to work as part of a team
Strong communication skills
AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE ROLES & SECURITY
A Defence security clearance is required for this role, applicants must be Australian citizens and eligible to obtain and maintain an appropriate clearance.
Additional information with regards to clearances is available from the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency website http://www.defence.gov.au/AGSVA/. In some cases, individuals who hold a current clearance from a foreign government may be eligible to have this clearance recognised by the Australian Government and be eligible for this role. The Australian Defence Trade Controls Act (DTCA) is applicable and as such, your nationality may be a factor in determining your suitability for this role.
