About the Role
The Royal Melbourne Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Emergency Services Clerk to join our Emergency Services team. This permanent part-time opportunity offers a varied and rewarding role supporting the delivery of high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Your New Team
The Emergency Services team provides expert acute care across a broad range of specialties including critical care, major trauma, mental health, toxicology and emergency ambulatory care. Working within a multidisciplinary environment, you will be part of a dedicated team committed to delivering outstanding patient care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Key Accountabilities
In this role, you will:

Provide a professional, welcoming and customer-focused service to patients, families and visitors.

Accurately collect, enter and maintain patient information for clinical and billing purposes.

Support the smooth operation of the Emergency Department through timely administrative assistance.

Liaise effectively with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across the hospital.
About You

Previous administrative or clerical experience, ideally within a healthcare environment.

Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a professional telephone manner.

Accurate data entry and computer skills with strong attention to detail.

Ability to work effectively in a busy and changing environment.
Desirable
-
Experience working within an Emergency Department or acute healthcare setting.

Knowledge of hospital patient administration systems.
