About the role:

The Policy Officer, Strategic Policy and Projects role works as part of an internal consultancy to provide high quality research and analysis, provide strategic advice, and contribute to the delivery of strategic projects across the Department of Health. You will provide policy development support and capability building through work on specific policy projects working in a matrix model to deliver internal consulting support.

About you:

Can you demonstrate the following:

Experienced in providing expert advice and leading strategic policy projects to address complex and emerging issues?
A strategic and innovative thinker with the ability to analyse complex data, information, develop evidence-based policy solutions, and work across multiple work streams?
Skilled in getting across information quickly, understanding and analysing data, and translating this to support policy development and the delivery of strategic projects?

Qualifications/Specialist Expertise:

A tertiary qualification in public policy, public administration, strategy, business or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
Knowledge and experience in government, health sector, health service delivery, social sector and/or economics with skills and experience in policy would be desirable.
