Full Job Description

Senior Gardener / Estate Manager

A rare opportunity for an experienced Senior Gardener / Estate Manager to take a hands-on role in one of Blue Mountains’ significant heritage cool climate garden estates.

You will be responsible for management of the day-to-day maintenance and seasonal programs across the historic gardens with the support of a small team.

You will have a good understanding and application of sustainable practices including composting, plant propagation, plant health, soil management, irrigation and plumbing, and pest and weed management, with a focus on proactive risk identification and continuous improvement.

Ideal candidate will have experience delivering a broad range of gardening duties with the ability to plan and prioritise tasks.
Knowledge of plant identification and cultivation, pruning and garden renewal, propagation, soil improvement, turf care, and soft landscaping
Experience operating a range of gardening tools and machinery, including mowers, brush cutters and blowers, chainsaws, tractor and excavator.
Ability to undertake routine equipment care, monitor and troubleshoot irrigation systems.
Good communication skills, including the ability to liaise with contractors, and provide updates on progress and issues.
You will assist with management of small events and short term rental accommodation, attending to repairs and maintenance as required and liaising with contractors such as electricians to attend as required.
Must have a current Drivers Licence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $90,000.00 per year
