With over 15 years of combined expertise, we specialise in the supply and distribution of cleaning consumables, hygiene products, and janitorial equipment to a diverse portfolio of commercial, industrial, and institutional clients across Australia.
As we enter an exciting new growth phase, we're looking for a driven and commercially savvy Business Development Manager to help us expand our reach, deepen existing relationships, and bring new clients into the Verdant & Co family.
THE OPPORTUNITY
This is a results-focused sales role built for someone who already knows the industry — and the people in it. We're looking for a commercially driven Business Development Manager who comes with an established network of clients, contacts, and relationships across the commercial cleaning, facilities management, and hygiene distribution space.
You won't be starting from zero. We want someone who has spent years building trust with facility managers, procurement leads, and business — and who is ready to bring those relationships to an organisation with the product range, reliability, and ambition to back them up.
In addition to leveraging your existing network, you'll continue to grow new accounts across a defined territory, building a strong pipeline and being rewarded every time you deliver results.
The ideal candidate has existing, trusted relationships with facility managers, cleaning contractors, property services businesses, or large-scale distributors. If your clients know you, trust you, and would follow you — we want to talk.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
New Business Development
- Proactively identify, target, and convert new commercial accounts across sectors including facilities management, healthcare, hospitality, education, and property services
- Develop and execute a structured territory sales plan aligned to quarterly and annual revenue targets
- Conduct face-to-face and virtual product presentations, tailoring solutions to each client's operational needs
Account Management & Growth
- Nurture and grow a portfolio of existing accounts, identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities across Verdant & Co's full product range
- Build strong, trust-based relationships with procurement managers, operations leads, and key decision-makers
- Conduct regular client reviews to ensure satisfaction, resolve issues promptly, and lock in repeat business
Pipeline & Reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all sales activity, opportunities, and client interactions within the CRM
- Provide regular pipeline forecasts and territory performance reports to management
- Stay across competitor activity, market pricing, and emerging client needs
COMPENSATION STRUCTURE
We believe the best salespeople should be able to significantly influence their own earnings. Our package is structured to reflect that.
Base Salary — $70 000 - $85 000 per annum (commensurate with experience)
Commission — Generous uncapped commission and bonus structure; specific terms negotiated with the successful applicant
OTE — $110 000 - $130 000+, with high performers $160 000+

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- Minimum 6 years of B2B field sales experience in cleaning consumables, hygiene products, janitorial equipment, facilities management, or related distribution/wholesale
- An established network of relationships with facility managers, cleaning contractors, property services businesses, or large-scale distributors — and the credibility to leverage them
- Proven history of winning and retaining large commercial accounts, ideally including national or multi-site clients
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong extraverted communicator who naturally forms positive relationships ready to bring in new accounts
- Experience transitioning a client base or book of business in a previous role is highly regarded
