So, who are we?
Buller Hospitality sits under the Buller Ski Lifts (BSL) umbrella, which employs around 850 seasonal staff each winter. Our hospitality team alone hires 100+ seasonal staff, so it’s safe to say we know how to serve food in a big way.

Let’s talk about the role.
As an on-mountain Food & Beverage Manager, you will oversee all operational, people, and service elements of your assigned venue, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality guest experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing daily venue operations and ensuring service excellence across all service periods
- Leading, coaching, and developing supervisors and seasonal hospitality teams
- Preparing and managing staff rosters in line with operational requirements
- Overseeing stock control, ordering, and conducting regular stocktakes
- Ensuring compliance with food safety, workplace health & safety, and company policies
- Managing bar, café, or restaurant operations (placement based on experience)
- Monitoring performance, addressing issues proactively, and driving continuous improvement
Building and maintaining a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture

As an on-mountain Food & Beverage Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day operations of your assigned venue while leading front-line teams to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Venue Manager with daily operations and service delivery
- Leading shifts and supervising staff during service periods
- Managing daily labour on shift, including staff deployment and break management to meet service and budget requirements
- Monitoring and minimising food and beverage wastage during service periods
- Providing hands-on customer service and acting as a point of contact for guests
- Training and mentoring seasonal team members
- Ensuring service standards are met across bar, café, or restaurant operations
- Monitoring food safety, workplace safety, and hygiene compliance
- Assisting with basic stock control and reporting issues to management
- Helping foster a positive, inclusive, and motivated team culture
These roles are available across multiple on mountain Buller Hospitality venues.
A bit about you

Proven hospitality leadership or supervisory experience
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm in high-volume environments
- Confident communication and people-management skills
- A hands-on leadership style and solutions-focused mindset
- Available for the full winter ski season between June to early October

What experience do you need?

Previous hospitality leadership experience (supervisor, assistant manager, or manager level)
- Strong bar, café, or restaurant service knowledge
- Valid Victorian RSA Certificate (required)
- Barista, cocktail, and multi-outlet experience highly regarded
- Some venues require staff to ski or snowboard to access them. Please let us know your ability level so we can ensure the best possible placement.
