Housekeeping Supervisor – Mt Buller Winter Season
Job Duties Include (but are not limited to):
- Participate in hands-on daily cleaning of guest rooms, apartments, and public areas alongside your team
- Conduct thorough inspection of apartments and rooms before your team departs, ensuring all cleans meet the required standard before sign-off
- Assist with stocktake of cleaning supplies and linen, and contribute to ordering and inventory management as required
- Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, and ensure your team does the same
- Enforce and model correct workplace health and safety guidelines at all times
- Ensure all cleans and services are completed within allocated timeframes without compromising quality standards
- Coordinate daily task allocation for your team, following direction from the Housekeeping and Hotel & Apartments Managers and adapting to unexpected situations as they arise
- Assist with snow clearing when required
- Drive safely on mountain roads and in snow and alpine conditions to access various apartment locations across the resort
We're Looking for People with:
- Prior cleaning and/or housekeeping experience — required
- Previous supervisory or team leader experience in housekeeping, hotels, or a related field — strongly preferred
- Seasonal snow resort experience — required; Mt Buller, or other ski resort employment highly regarded
- Confidence and competence driving in snow and alpine conditions — required
- Strong attention to detail with a high standard of cleanliness, and the ability to inspect and assess others' work objectively
- Basic English — required; good verbal and written communication skills for team coordination and reporting
- Customer service experience, preferably in a hotel or accommodation setting
- Demonstrated ability to safely use and supervise the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing both your own workload and your team's
- Strong physical capabilities — able to lift moderate to heavy weight, stand for extended periods (4+ hours), and walk across the resort including inclined terrain, stairs, and outdoor areas in all weather conditions
- Honest, trustworthy, reliable, and able to hold your team to the same standard
- Flexible and committed to your roster, including early starts and late finishes
- Resilient and adaptable — comfortable living and working in an isolated alpine environment and responding positively under pressure
