$85,000 + 12% Super

The University of New England is seeking an experienced and motivated Head Chef to join their team and step into an exciting new chapter. If you’re passionate about creating nutritious, high‑quality meals and thrive in a bulk‑cooking environment, this opportunity could be the perfect fit. Chartwells are specialists in providing catering and hospitality services in education. Our goal is to provide engaging and nutritious dining solutions tailored to support academic achievement at the highest levels.

THE POSITION

Responsible for direction, coaching and hands‑on support to drive a strong onsite team.
Lead menu design, food preparation and high‑quality service delivery across all offerings.
Plan, supervise and monitor production for functions and daily in‑house catering.
Build strong relationships while maintaining excellence in food safety, allergen control and OHS.
Oversee procurement, stock management, cost control and minimise food wastage.

THE PERSON

Qualified chef with minimum Cert III in Commercial Cookery
Creative culinary leader, strong presentation skills, and a passion for seasonal, local produce
Engaging communicator able to build positive relationships with staff, clients and students
Experienced team mentor with a track record in training, developing and guiding teams and delivering corporate‑style functions
Adaptable and energetic professional who can multitask, forward‑plan, remain focused in changing environments
Hold (or obtain) a Working With Children Check
