About the role
Located at our Morwell Campus’, we have an exciting ongoing Part Time opportunity for suitably qualified, experienced and passionate Conservation & Ecosystem Management (CEM) experts to join our CEM Educator team to deliver the Certificate III and Diploma in Conservation & Ecosystem Management courses to TAFE Gippsland students, and secondary school students participating in the VET Delivered to Secondary Schools (VDSS) program.
As an Educator, you will deliver high-quality classroom-based training and assessment, whilst conducting practical skills training in simulated workplace environments to provide foundational skills and specialist knowledge in CEM. You’ll create inventive learning resources and assessment to support and guide students, and equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a successful career in Conservation & Ecosystem Management.
At TAFE Gippsland the role of the Teacher is to
- Share knowledge and experience in your specialist area;
- Manage the learning process to enable students to achieve their best;
- Develop and deliver relevant and industry current course material;
- Ensure that their own professional teaching and vocational competence and currency is kept up to date along with licensing requirements.
Qualifications and experience
- Minimum Diploma of Conservation and Land Management or related studies such as Natural Resource Management, Horticulture or Agriculture at the level or higher (mandatory)
- Minimum five (5) years current or recent experience working in the conservation and land management fields (mandatory)
- Experience in Coastal Conservation, Erosion Control, Intertidal Marine monitoring, Water Sampling and Testing.
- Bachelor of Environmental Science or related studies at the level or higher (desirable)
- Certificate IV Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent)
- Note: Whilst it is a mandatory requirement for all teaching staff to possess this qualification, it is not a prerequisite to apply for this role. Support will be provided to the successful applicant upon commencement of employment, including financial sponsorship to complete the qualification, a paid workday per week to attend any classroom-based TAFE Gippsland course and the provision of a mentor to assist your transition from Industry to Teaching.

- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police Check (not older than 12 months old)
- Current Driver’s License (some travel to other Campuses may be required)
A six-month probationary period applies to the role.
