About the role
This position is a permanent, full time role in Council's Compliance Division, based at Moruya. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing leadership for the Division and will contribute to major organisational projects and initiatives.
The position will effectively and proactively manage the Compliance Division to ensure statutory requirements and Council standards are achieved across public health, environment and building regulatory services so that informed decisions can be made on these functions within legal and financial constraints.
An attractive salary package will be negotiated with the successful candidate, inclusive of a cash component, Division Manager Allowance, fully maintained Council salary packaged vehicle (including full private usage) and 12% superannuation.

About you
You are a qualified professional in planning, environmental health, building surveying, or law, with eligibility for membership with PIA or AIBS, and bring substantial management experience within Local Government, or a comparable organisation. You have a strong track record delivering services and projects aligned with organisational priorities and community expectations, supported by sound financial, project, and resource management capability.
A confident and considered decision-maker, you are able to respond to changing organisational demands and a complex political environment while driving outcomes that support Council’s goals. An engaging and pragmatic leader, you motivate and guide teams, build strong working relationships, and foster a positive, high-performing culture. Your communication, negotiation, and community engagement skills enable you to balance competing interests and achieve practical, community-focused outcomes.
Technologically proficient, you are confident across Microsoft Office and experienced in GIS systems such as Intramaps or similar.
