Waste Services Attendant

$28.04/hour + 12% super + leave + penalties

Compass Group Australia delivers essential support services at Peninsula University Hospital, one of Victoria’s largest health infrastructure projects. We provide vital services including cleaning, waste management, and security. With clinical services delivered by Peninsula Health, this state-of-the-art public hospital will play a significant role in supporting the local community. THE POSITION

Manage the collection, sorting, and disposal of general, clinical, and hazardous waste in line with hospital protocols and regulatory requirements.
Operate waste equipment safely and maintain clean, hygienic waste areas including bins, rooms, and disposal points.
Support waste audits, sustainability initiatives, and continuous improvement in waste management practices.
Coordinate waste logistics including bin washing, carousel and chute systems, and subcontractor collections.
Maintain accurate records, follow infection control procedures, and collaborate with hospital teams to ensure safe, efficient operations.

THE PERSON

Experience in waste management or environmental services (healthcare experience highly regarded).
Knowledge of waste handling practices and infection control protocols.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and compliance standards.
Ability to work independently, manage physical tasks, and meet operational schedules.
Effective communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach.
