Hunter New England Local Health District - Rural Generalists –
The Rural and Regional Health Services Unit of Hunter New England Local Health District (HNELHD) is seeking Rural Generalists with advanced skills in Emergency Medicine to provide Emergency Department coverage across our rural and regional health sites, including Moree, Glen Innes, Inverell, Gunnedah and Narrabri.

Glen Innes District Hospital
Glen Innes District Hospital is located within the Hunter New England Local Health District, part of the Glen Innes Severn Shire local government area. The facility is a 24-bed Level 3 rural hospital, incorporating a two-bay, four-bed Emergency Department (ED). Gunnedah District Hospital
Located just 45 minutes from Tamworth Airport, with a population of approximately 13,000 Gunnedah is a vibrant and welcoming community offering outstanding lifestyle opportunities for individuals and families. Essential Criteria – Qualifications
- A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA
- Fellowship of the RACGP or ACRRM
- Recognition as a Rural Generalist and/or via overseas-trained specialist pathways
- Demonstrated capability as a medical expert, with recent and comprehensive experience in General Practice (Emergency Medicine)
