About the Role
We are a well-established motor vehicle workshop specialising in diesel systems, working on both petrol and diesel vehicles, seeking someone who have minimum 1 year experience (more experience highly regarded) in diesel fuel system and engine reconditioning.

This is a skilled trade position consistent with ANZSCO 321211 – Motor Mechanic (General).
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Technical Duties
· Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on common rail diesel systems, including injectors and high-pressure fuel pumps.
· Demonstrate strong knowledge of diesel fuel systems, including fault diagnosis, component testing, and pump/injector servicing (experience with diesel fuel pumps highly regarded).
· Carry out engine overhauls and rebuilds, including strip-down, inspection, measurement, and reassembly to manufacturer specifications.
· Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults across diesel and petrol vehicles using diagnostic equipment and standard testing procedures.
· Perform routine servicing and maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, brake servicing, and full system inspections.
· Dismantle, repair, and reassemble key vehicle systems, including engines, transmissions, suspension, steering, braking, and exhaust systems.
· Repair or replace worn or defective components and ensure all work meets workshop quality standards.
· Conduct vehicle inspections, identify faults, and provide clear repair recommendations.
· Perform tyre replacements and basic mechanical adjustments as required.
· Test, adjust, and verify repaired systems to ensure safety and performance compliance.
· Carry out road testing after repairs to confirm proper operation and fault resolution.
· Maintain accurate job cards, service records, and workshop documentation.
Operational Responsibilities
- Maintain and use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment appropriately.
- Ensure workshop cleanliness and safe work practices.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
- Comply with Work Health and Safety (WHS) requirements.
- Communicate repair findings and recommendations to the Director.
- Provide professional customer service.
- Work collaboratively with other workshop staff.
- Assist in training and mentoring apprentice mechanics where required.

Qualifications and Experience
- Relevant trade qualification equivalent to AQF Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or overseas equivalent).
- Minimum 1 year experience (more experience highly regarded).
- Valid driver’s licence.
- Any required state motor vehicle repair licence.
Physical Requirements
- Standing for extended periods.
- Working on vehicle hoists.
- Working in confined spaces.
- Manual handling within safe limits.
- Occasional overtime when required.
