Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, and systems for new and existing agricultural equipment.
- Assist in the development and integration of control systems, sensors and motors, including firmware for electric motor controllers.
- Create and interpret technical drawings and specifications using 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, or similar).
- Conduct rigorous testing and performance analysis of prototypes and finished products to ensure they meet design requirements and safety standards.
- Support prototyping, fabrication, assembly and testing of new designs, including welding, machining and equipment setup.
- Collaborate on firmware testing and performance evaluation of motor controllers in coordination with external suppliers.
- Identify and implement improvements to manufacturing processes, quality control and product optimisation.
- Contribute to design documentation, safety assessments and technical manuals.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in mechanical design, product development or electro‑mechanical systems integration.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Autodesk Inventor).
- Demonstrated experience with electro-mechanical or mechatronic systems, including an understanding of motor control principles and embedded systems.
- Practical, hands-on skills in workshop fabrication, including welding and mechanical assembly.
- Strong problem-solving abilities for analysing system performance, troubleshooting failures, and optimizing designs for efficiency and safety.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative team.
- Knowledge of agricultural or industrial equipment design, with an understanding of standards for quality control, installation, and maintenance.
