The position of Psychologist has a focus on:
Supporting the development and implementation of student wellbeing across the College.
Working collaboratively to implement programs for students deemed `At Risk¿.
Conducting psychological assessments, analysing results and implementing recommendations to support students.
Providing 1:1 counselling for students dealing with emotional, social and behavioural issues/concerns.
The Psychologist works under the direction of the Director of Student Services. Alongside the Student Wellbeing Team.
Provide high quality case management and support to students.
Undertake individual and/or group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students to assist them in enhancing their capacity to self-manage their social, emotional and educational needs.
Administer assessments and diagnosis in order to provide advice to staff, students and families.
Keep thorough and extensive case notes to create transparency and accountability.
Work in collaboration with the broader wellbeing team.
Where appropriate, contribute to whole school, year level and small group programs.
Develop and implement Department of Education (DE) and College procedures and policies to support and foster the wellbeing of students.
Establish and maintain links with Student Support Services, school networks and relevant support agencies with a view to optimising service provision to students.
Provide advice in the identification and analysis of emerging student wellbeing issues and coordinate specialist advice on the range of appropriate interventions for College staff to use in classrooms.
Actively participate in professional development activities and programs and share knowledge and expertise with other staff.
Work as a key member of the Student Wellbeing Team to ensure uniformity of action and purpose across the College in matters relating to student wellbeing.
