As the successful Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will work closely with the Head of Legal Australia and New Zealand on implementing and maintaining processes and reference documents to contribute to the success of a diverse team with a broad range of expertise.
Principal Role Accountabilities
In this role, you will:
- Be in charge of the regulatory watch process for Australia and New Zealand: this requires identifying changes to laws, reporting them and tracking them in the relevant system;
- Be in charge of the company secretarial tasks supporting the Company Secretary; This includes, organising board meetings, drafting minutes, maintaining records, perform lodgements with ASIC, etc
- Manage the Power of Attorneys that are required for the proper functioning of BNP Paribas in Australia and New Zealand;
- Support the Head of Legal with the preparation of committees, the management of legal procedures and the record keeping of documents.
- Provide support in creating reference documents for the team that will streamline processes (e.g: create a data base of frequently received questions and answers within the Legal department).
- Assist lawyers in preparing legal documents as and when required.

- Provide support of day to day tasks within the Legal department;
What is required for you to succeed?
- Overall experience of 5-6 years in a similar role.
- Experience of company secretarial work is a desirable.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office tools and comfortable using new and varied IT tools.
- Flexibility and openness to tackle new challenges.
- Be extremely detailed oriented and results driven.
