About the Role
Currently Hiring is seeking an experienced Upholsterer for our client, a manufacturer of premium quality soft furnishings.
This role focuses on the upholstery of commercial sofas, lounges, banquette seating, ottomans, and custom soft furnishing products supplied to education, healthcare, hospitality, government environments and corporate clients.
We're looking for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, enjoys working with quality materials, and has experience producing upholstered furniture to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Upholstering commercial sofas, lounges, banquette seating, ottomans, and custom furniture pieces
- Measuring, cutting, fitting & stitching of fabrics, vinyls, leathers and other upholstery materials
- Applying foam, padding, webbing and support materials
- Reading and interpreting production drawings and work orders
- Using upholstery tools and equipment safely and effectively
- Inspecting finished products to ensure quality standards are achieved
- Working closely with the production team to meet customer deadlines
- Maintaining a safe, clean and organised work environment
About You
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:
- Trade Certificate in Upholstery
- Previous experience upholstering sofas, lounges or other soft furnishings
- Experience working with commercial-grade fabrics, vinyls and leathers
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
- Ability to work from drawings, specifications and production schedules
- Good manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
