EQ Foods is an Australian-owned manufacturer of premium high-protein baked goods supplied to leading retailers, gyms and health food stores nationwide. We're passionate about creating products that don't just meet expectations—they redefine them.

We're looking for a passionate Food Scientist / Batcher to join our growing team. This is a hands-on role where you'll be involved in everything from product formulation and batching through to production support, quality improvements and new product development.

If you love solving problems, improving recipes and seeing products go from concept to shelf, we'd love to hear from you.

What you'll be doing

Batch and manufacture products to precise formulations
Develop and improve recipes for commercial-scale production
Scale recipes from kitchen trials to full manufacturing runs
Conduct production trials and evaluate product performance
Work closely with production to improve consistency, yield and efficiency
Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and recommend practical solutions
Ensure recipes comply with HACCP, GMP and Australian food regulations
Maintain accurate formulation, specification and production documentation
Assist with nutritional calculations, shelf-life testing and product validation
Support the launch of exciting new products and limited editions

About you

We're looking for someone who:

Has qualifications in Food Science, Food Technology or a related field
Has experience in food manufacturing (bakery experience highly regarded)
Understands ingredients, food chemistry and commercial processing
Has experience batching ingredients accurately
Is organised, analytical and highly detail-oriented
Enjoys working both in production and on product development
Can work independently while collaborating with a close-knit team
Is passionate about health foods, sports nutrition or functional foods

Bonus points if you have experience with

High-protein baked products
Shelf-life studies
Nutritional calculations
HACCP, GMP and SQF systems
Continuous improvement projects
Commercial bakery equipment
