About the role
As Regional Manager, you will be Victoria Legal Aid (VLA)'s senior leader in the Mallee region, leading the Mildura office and playing a key role improving access to justice for the community. You will lead a growing, tight-knit team of lawyers and support staff to deliver impactful, high-quality legal and advocacy services across criminal, civil, family law, child protection and family violence.
You will directly influence how legal assistance services are delivered in this region, in partnership with practice partners, to improve legal experiences and outcomes for those who need it the most
This role combines people leadership, legal expertise, strong community engagement and strategic planning. You will create a positive and inclusive workplace, support staff wellbeing and development, and lead the team through growth and change. You will also contribute directly to legal practice by providing supervision and, where appropriate, appearing in court. Opportunities to leave your mark on the future direction of child protection, family and civil law are particularly critical as VLA expands these practices.
In the role you will be well connected with VLA's broad support network with access to practice support and ongoing professional development including regular opportunities to travel to head office to connect with colleagues and broaden your networks.
