Full Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced and commercially minded Bid Manager to join our growing team based in Sydney. This role will play a key part in managing and coordinating tender submissions, cost planning, and commercial bid activities across a range of civil construction and infrastructure projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with operational, commercial, and senior leadership teams to prepare high-quality submissions and ensure projects are commercially viable, competitive, and aligned with business objectives.

About the Role

As the Bid Manager, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and coordination of tender submissions from initial review through to final delivery. The role requires strong commercial acumen, attention to detail, stakeholder engagement, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines within a fast-paced environment.

This position is well suited to candidates with a background in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Commercial Management, or Civil Construction tendering.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate the end-to-end tender and bid submission process
Review tender documentation, specifications, and contractual requirements
Prepare cost estimates, pricing schedules, quantity take-offs, and commercial submissions
Coordinate internal stakeholders including operations, procurement, finance, and project teams
Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain quotations and pricing information
Identify commercial risks and opportunities within tender submissions
Assist with contract reviews and bid clarifications
Ensure all submissions are completed accurately and within required deadlines
Maintain tender registers, documentation, and bid records
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives relating to estimating and tendering processes

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

Tertiary qualifications in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline
Previous experience in bid management, quantity surveying, estimating, or commercial construction roles
Strong understanding of civil construction, infrastructure, or building project delivery
Experience preparing tender submissions and cost estimates
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and organisational capability
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple business functions
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software systems
Ability to manage competing priorities and tight deadlines
