Full Job Description

YORU is a modern Japanese-Korean izakaya on the Gold Coast, blending bold flavours with premium ingredients in a stylish, professional kitchen environment.

We're seeking a passionate, disciplined chef/line cook with strong culinary skills and attention to detail to join our growing kitchen team.

What we're after:

Experience in Japanese/Korean cuisine or similar Asian cooking (preferred)
Strong knife skills and ability to follow recipes precisely
Understanding of FIFO stock rotation and food safety protocols
Excellent hygiene standards and food handling knowledge
Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently under pressure
Good English communication skills for clear teamwork
Professional attitude with respect for premium ingredients

What you'll be doing:

Preparing and cooking menu items to exact recipe specifications
Maintaining consistent food presentation and quality standards
Proper ingredient prep, labelling, dating, and storage protocols
Daily stock control and waste reporting
Comprehensive kitchen cleaning and sanitation duties
Following all food safety and hygiene requirements
Supporting the team to deliver exceptional dining experiences
