About Us

Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission.

Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the ‘Courts Group'.

Our people enable the Courts Group to deliver on each jurisdiction's own strategic priorities while also pursuing strategic opportunities that are interconnected and deliver benefits more broadly.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The MCV determines in excess of 200,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, dealing with over 90 percent of all adult cases that come before Victorian courts each year.

MCV aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

About the Role

Make a Difference Through Therapeutic Case Management

The Court Integrated Services Program (CISP) is a court-based therapeutic initiative that helps address the underlying causes of offending and supports people to make positive, lasting changes in their lives. By connecting participants with tailored services including mental health support, alcohol and other drug treatment, housing assistance, disability services, acquired brain injury programs and Koori-specific supports, CISP aims to reduce reoffending and improve community safety.

At the heart of the program is a dedicated Case Manager who works closely with participants, providing guidance, support and accountability throughout their journey. Through regular engagement, progress monitoring and collaboration with support services, Case Managers help individuals address complex challenges while keeping the Court informed of their progress. CISP offers a unique opportunity to contribute to meaningful rehabilitation outcomes and make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable people and the broader community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

A qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Allied Health or a related discipline (or be working towards one), coupled with relevant experience supporting individuals with complex needs.
Demonstrated experience applying evidence-based, person-centred, strengths-based, trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices to achieve positive outcomes for clients.
Strong assessment, engagement and case management skills, with the ability to build trust and effectively support behavioural change.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports and correspondence that provide Magistrates, legal representatives and key stakeholders with a holistic understanding of a client's circumstances.
Confidence presenting information in a court environment, helping to inform decision-making, support fair outcomes and enhance procedural justice.
The ability to navigate complex situations with professionalism, sound judgement and a commitment to delivering high-quality services to diverse communities.
