Full Job Description

If so, the Loddon Mallee Conservation Regulatory Operations team has the opportunity for you.

From the mallee woodlands and sand dune systems of Murray ‑ Sunset and Hattah ‑ Kulkyne National Parks to the river landscapes along the Murray and throughout the broader Loddon Mallee region, this position offers the ideal opportunity for the right candidate to contribute to the Conservation Regulator’s key regulatory priorities and help protect some of Victoria’s most unique natural assets.

The preferred candidate will bring enthusiasm, curiosity, and a willingness to build their skills and experience as part of a high ‑ performing operational team committed to achieving positive environmental compliance outcomes across the Loddon Mallee.

Based within the Loddon Mallee region, this role plays an important part in assisting with complex investigations into breaches of environmental legislation, patrolling recreation sites on public land, educating the community, and supporting appropriate, graduated enforcement responses to unlawful activities that cause significant environmental harm.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

Demonstrated analytical and investigative skills.
Knowledge and understanding of conservation regulatory legislation, policy and the planning and delivery of compliance operations.
Certificate IV in government investigations (or an equivalent qualification) and/or experience in the application of environmental regulation is highly desirable.

This is a fixed term position available for a period until 28 June 2027. The work location for this position is flexible within Loddon Mallee region with hybrid work arrangements available.
