Short Socials is a Melbourne-based content creation agency specialising in short-form video for personal brands and businesses, including Jane Lu, Sana Coffee, The Sneaker Laundry, Angela's Bakery and Bubble Cup.
We create organic Reels and TikToks designed to drive reach, engagement and business results. We're looking for a reliable and confident Videographer / Shooter to help bring our content strategies to life.
You'll work closely with our clients and Content Strategists to capture engaging footage that aligns with each client's content plan.
The Role
Your primary responsibility is to attend client shoots, guide clients on camera, capture footage according to the content brief, and upload footage for our editing team.
This is an execution-focused role. You'll be responsible for making sure all required content is captured efficiently while ensuring our clients feel comfortable, confident and natural on camera.

Works with: Clients, Content Strategists and Editors
Key Responsibilities
Content Production
- Shoot short-form content according to the content brief provided by the Content Strategist
- Adapt and improvise when planned shots aren't possible on the day
- Direct and guide clients to act and speak naturally on camera
- Review footage during the shoot to ensure clips have been captured correctly
- Ensure all required footage is captured before leaving each shoot
- Help clients feel comfortable, confident and natural on camera
- Represent Short Socials professionally during all client interactions
File Management
- Upload all footage promptly after each shoot, ideally on the same day
- Organise and submit footage according to company systems and processes
- Ensure footage is uploaded correctly and is easily accessible to the editing team
Team Collaboration
- Communicate clearly with clients and Content Strategists
- Arrive prepared and on time for every scheduled shoot
- Follow company systems, processes and shoot standards
- Communicate any issues or changes with the Content Strategist promptly
Performance Expectations
- Attend all shoots reliably and punctually
- Capture all footage required by the content brief
- Upload footage within the required timeframe
- Provide a positive and professional experience for every client
- Follow company systems and processes consistently
- Take ownership of your responsibilities and deliver work to a high standard
Requirements
Experience
- 1+ years of experience filming short-form content and/or guiding clients in front of the camera
- Comfortable directing people and communicating confidently while filming
Equipment & Transport
- Own a recent smartphone capable of filming high-quality content for Instagram Reels and TikTok
- Own a laptop or tablet to view and refer to the content brief during shoots
- Own a portable charger
- Have reliable access to mobile data and internet for uploading footage
- Hold a valid Australian driver's licence
- Own and have reliable access to a car
- Be willing and able to travel to different client locations across Melbourne
