TL $90,879 - $128,887 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).

The Hospitality, Cookery and Patisserie Department at Holmesglen offers a progressive, innovative, and supportive teaching environment, underpinned by strong industry connections and partnerships. Based at the Glen Waverley campus, courses are delivered through purpose-built, fully functional facilities, including the operational Zest Restaurant and commercial kitchens. The department offers nationally accredited programs, as well as industry-based skill sets, covering a wide range of fields such as hospitality, cookery, kitchen management, patisserie, and bakery. Programs range from certificate to diploma level qualifications, equipping students with the practical skills and industry experience needed to excel in the hospitality and culinary sectors.
As a key member of our teaching team, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the student experience through the delivery of engaging, high-quality education and training. Working in alignment with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations, Training Package requirements, Training and Assessment Strategies (TAS), Holmesglen procedures, and relevant contractual or funding frameworks, you’ll help guide learners through every stage of their journey — from initial course enquiries to meaningful learning outcomes.
This is a hands-on and rewarding role where you’ll design and deliver training that inspires, using a variety of innovative teaching and assessment methods tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. You'll also take the lead in developing learning resources and assessment tools that support excellence in delivery. By building strong connections with industry and key stakeholders, you'll ensure our programs remain relevant and impactful. Your collaborative approach and commitment to outstanding student support will also see you actively involved in course coordination and departmental initiatives that contribute to the success of both students and the wider faculty.
As Teacher – Hospitality, you will:

Design, develop, and implement innovative teaching and learning strategies that effectively support the diverse needs of learners. This includes the creation of high-quality learning resources and the completion of related educational administrative tasks.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance and performance, ensuring all results and learner information are recorded in accordance with institutional requirements.

Contribute to internal and external audit processes by sourcing, preparing, and providing relevant documentation and information as required.

Promote and support an inclusive learning environment, offering appropriate guidance and assistance to students from diverse cultural, linguistic, and educational backgrounds and with varying abilities.

Establish and maintain a positive and engaging learning environment that supports early student engagement, fosters connection with the academic and social environment, reduces attrition, and promotes student success.
To be successful, you’ll have:

An approved degree, diploma or certificate in a relevant vocational area, or approved equivalent qualifications, at least to the level being delivered and assessed. i.e. SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management; and

Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or TAE40116 or TAE40110) or its successor; or
-
An approved diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education or vocational education and training; or
-
A secondary teaching qualification and one of the following credentials:
- TAESS00011 Assessor Skill Set, or
- TAESS00019 Assessor Skill Set or its successor, or
- TAESS00024 VET Delivered to School Students Teacher Enhancement Skill Set or its successor.

Current licences necessary to practice, or registration and/or membership of a relevant industry association where applicable.

WWCC and Police Check: Appointment to this position is dependent on obtaining a Victorian ‘employee’ Working with Children Check, and a valid Police Check within the last 12 months.
