The Role
We are seeking an experienced Tandem Truck Tipper Driver to join our team on a full-time basis. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of excavated materials from basement excavation sites across the Melbourne metro area. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, turns up on time, and gets the job done.
Key Responsibilities
- Safe operation of a tandem tipper truck to and from excavation sites
- Loading and unloading of excavated soil, rock, and spoil from basement dig sites
- Carrying out daily pre-start vehicle inspections and maintaining truck cleanliness
- Completing relevant paperwork including run sheets, dockets, and tip receipts
- Communicating effectively with site supervisors, excavator operators, and traffic controllers
- Following all site-specific traffic management and safety plans
- Ensuring compliance with EPA regulations regarding the transport and disposal of materials
- Reporting any vehicle defects, incidents, or near-misses promptly
Requirements
- Current HR (Heavy Rigid) licence — essential
- Minimum 1 years of experience operating tandem tipper trucks
- Experience in excavation, civil, or earthworks environments preferred
- Strong knowledge of Melbourne metro roads, tip sites, and traffic conditions
- Current White Card (Construction Induction Card)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening
- Reliability — punctual, consistent, and dependable attendance is non-negotiable
