About the Role

BYD Australia is seeking a Sales Planning Specialist to join our Melbourne office in Mulgrave. This role is critical to driving the development, coordination, and execution of national sales volume planning strategy. You’ll play a key part in aligning production with demand forecasts, identifying market trends, and ensuring retail sales targets are constructed in accordance with the fast-evolving automotive landscape.

Key Responsibilities

Assist with monthly volume forecasting & production plan by collating dealer order bank data, pipeline information, and retail sales trends.

Manage the monthly wholesale volume planning and forecasting to assist RDC capacity planning.

Liaise with the Supply Chain and Logistics team to align vehicle arrivals with dealer demand and allocation plans.

Support the development of national Dealer sales targets, long term volume planning, and market share analysis.

Address operational data requests from internal stakeholders across departments.

Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Sales teams to ensure go-to-market plans and sales strategies are aligned.

Analyse national sales trends and performance to identify risks and opportunities.

Contribute to long-term vehicle planning and assist in defining strategic product lifecycle milestones.

Build, maintain, and distribute weekly and monthly sales & stock performance reports for BYD models.

About You

You’re a data-driven professional with strong planning skills and an in-depth understanding of the automotive industry. Your ability to communicate insights, influence key stakeholders, and adapt strategies in a high-growth environment makes you a trusted resource across departments.

You’ll bring:

Minimum 3 years’ experience in a sales planning & operations, car flow, logistics, or product-focused role within the automotive industry.

Proven experience managing volume planning, demand forecasting, or production coordination.

Strong knowledge of Dealer network operations and sales channel management.

High attention to detail, with advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualisation tools.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with confidence engaging senior management.

Ability to analyse and articulate complex information and data in a clear, concise and precise manner.

Knowledge of automotive supply chain, inventory, and logistics processes.
