We are looking for a detail-driven Energy Revenue Assurance Analyst to help protect revenue integrity across our Consumer billing operations.
Reporting to the Consumer Billing Operations Manager, you will detect, prevent and recover profit leakage across complex energy billing systems, using data insights to improve accuracy, strengthen controls and optimise cash flow.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you’ll work across billing, finance and operations to identify issues, improve controls and support accurate, timely billing outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:
- Auditing billing data to identify revenue leakage, anomalies, variances and unbilled usage.
- Supporting the Network Settlements and Metering Lead to reconcile network and wholesale invoices, including AEMO-related charges, to ensure accurate energy usage and transmission costs.
- Using SQL, data modelling and reporting tools to validate pricing, tariffs and billing system configuration.
- Partnering with billing, finance, technology and operations teams to investigate issues, resolve billing errors and address root causes.
- Designing and improving reconciliation processes to streamline back-office workflows, reduce manual effort and minimise risk.
- Translating complex datasets into clear insights, recommendations and actions that support stronger commercial and customer outcomes.
What you’ll bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
- Three to five years’ experience in retail energy operations, billing, revenue assurance, settlements or a similar analytical finance/operations role.
- Strong understanding of retail energy markets, complex network tariffs, meter data and the National Electricity Market.
- Advanced Excel capability, with experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Confidence querying databases and analysing large datasets using SQL or similar tools.
- Strong attention to detail, commercial curiosity and the ability to turn complex data into actionable financial insights.
- A collaborative style, with the ability to work effectively across billing, finance, operations and technology teams.
