Denzil Don is a vibrant, community-run kindergarten, located in Brunswick West. We offer four 4-year-old and three 3-year-old programs. We are a team of warm, progressive and passionate early years professionals. We are rated Exceeding.
Denzil Don Kindergarten is seeking an **experienced** **Early Childhood Teacher (ECT)** for a maternity leave position of one year, commencing on the 8 September, 2026. The position will be in 4-year-old Red Group for 2026 and 3-year-old Purple Group for term 1-3, 2027. (\Red Groups hours are: **Wednesday and Friday** in session and **Thursday planning.** Purple Groups hours are: **Monday and Tuesday** in session and **Wednesday** planning. Denzil Don Kindergarten is a **strong, passionate and progressive team of early childhood professionals**. Open communication and critical reflection are central to our practice. We are committed to continuously learning, growing and challenging ourselves, and we are seeking an Early Childhood Teacher who shares these values and brings enthusiasm to the profession. Applicants must have **experience working in a routine setting** and be willing to **work within our service procedures while learning and implementing our embedded practices**. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to: * **Lead a classroom** – establish and maintain a consistent routine, deliver engaging and inclusive group experiences, and confidently work within an all-in/all-out program. * **Collaborate effectively** – listen to and incorporate the ideas and experience of your co-educator and the wider team. * **Embody our Philosophy** – align with and embed the Denzil Don Kindergarten philosophy and pedagogical approach. * **View children as capable citizens** – uphold a strong image of the child and support children’s agency and voice. * **Bring enthusiasm to the profession** – demonstrate genuine curiosity and passion for children’s learning and development. * **Act with professionalism** – maintain high professional standards in all aspects of the role.
