Full Job Description

We are an Italian trattoria serving authentic Italian‑style food. We take pride in fresh ingredients, consistent quality and a friendly team culture. We are now seeking a hard‑working Commis Chef to join our kitchen team.

Job Duties

- Prepare, wash, peel and cut ingredients as per kitchen prep lists.

- Assist chefs with basic cooking, plating and dish‑up during service.

- Maintain cleanliness of work station, equipment and storage areas following food safety standards.

- Check ingredient freshness, label stock and assist with stock rotation.

- Follow recipes, portion control and presentation standards.

- Work as part of the kitchen team during busy service periods.

- Comply with all workplace health, safety and hygiene requirements.

Requirements

- Passion for food and cooking, willing to learn on the job.

- Can work weekends and evenings, able to work under pressure during peak service.

- Good teamwork, reliable and punctual.

- Basic kitchen experience is desirable but not essential; trainees are welcome.

- Valid Food Handler Certificate preferred.
