Purpose;
The State Training Manager reports to the Head of Business Performance & Enterprise Change and plays a critical role in enhancing dealer capability, driving performance outcomes and supporting the successful implementation of strategic initiatives across the dealership network.
Working in partnership with Dealer Managers and Commercial leaders, this role identifies performance improvement opportunities and delivers targeted training, coaching and capability development solutions that support dealer growth and improved customer outcomes.
As a trusted advisor and facilitator, the State Training Manager uses performance insights to assess capability gaps, design and deliver impactful learning experiences, and provide practical coaching that helps dealerships strengthen finance penetration, improve customer experiences and achieve sustainable commercial success.
This is a highly collaborative and field-based role that provides the opportunity to build strong relationships across the industry, influence positive behavioural change and make a tangible impact on dealer performance.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities;
Partner with Commercial, Marketing and Business Performance teams to support delivery of dealer capability and performance objectives.
Collaborate with State Managers and Dealer Managers to identify performance improvement opportunities and capability gaps across the dealer network.
Analyse dealership performance data and conduct capability assessments to identify training and coaching requirements.
Design, facilitate and deliver engaging training programs, workshops and learning experiences for dealership and internal teams.
Provide one-on-one coaching and development support to dealership personnel to improve capability, behaviours and business outcomes.
Support the implementation of key business initiatives by developing and delivering fit-for-purpose learning and communication resources.
Monitor training effectiveness and recommend continuous improvement opportunities based on feedback, performance trends and business needs.
Maintain accurate training records, activity reporting and stakeholder communications.
Qualifications and Experience;
We are looking for someone who combines strong commercial acumen with a passion for capability development and performance improvement.
Essential;
Demonstrated experience in training, facilitation, coaching, learning delivery or capability development.
Experience working in a sales, account management, business development, dealership, finance or commercial environment.
Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence and build credibility at all levels.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to present, facilitate and adapt messages for different audiences.
Proven ability to analyse performance data, identify trends and translate insights into practical improvement strategies.
Experience identifying capability gaps and implementing targeted development solutions to improve performance outcomes.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex behavioural, operational and performance challenges.
Highly organised with excellent planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while effectively managing competing priorities and deadlines.
A customer-focused mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service and partner experiences.
Desirable;
Experience within automotive finance, banking, financial services or a related industry.
Understanding of consumer and commercial finance products, lending processes and dealership operations.
Experience designing or developing learning resources, training programs and workshop content.
Relevant tertiary qualification in Business, Commerce, Economics, Marketing, Education or a related discipline.
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent), or willingness to obtain.
RG146 accreditation, or willingness to obtain.
