The Role: Dental Receptionist
You won’t just “take calls.” You’ll be the heart of first impressions, the calm in the appointment storm, the smiling voice patients rely on.
Your Day Might Include:
- Greeting patients (in person & by phone) with warmth, professionalism, calm
- Managing a busy appointment book — scheduling, rescheduling, handling emergencies
- Guiding patients through fees, health funds, payment plans, and billing
- Ensuring accurate, up-to-date patient records and treatment notes
- Proactively coordinating patient flow with clinicians to avoid downtime
- Following up with recalls, reminders, feedback calls
- Light admin: ordering supplies, daily reports, correspondence
- Being the “bridge” between patients and the clinical team — anticipate, communicate, smooth out friction
What You Bring to the Table
- You’re genuinely warm, empathetic, and enjoy interacting with people
- Organised and able to juggle multiple tasks under pressure
- You’ve got experience (ideally in a dental/medical/clinic environment)
- Comfortable with financials, billing, office systems
- Tech-savvy: able to pick up practice software, digital scheduling, office tools
- You take ownership — see a problem, fix it
- Integrity, professionalism, reliability — you treat patient confidence as sacred
