We are currently seeking Qualified Early Childhood Educators (Diploma) to join our team.
Part Time Postion hours:
Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 8.26 hours per day, various start times.
Location - Lady Huntingfield Early Learning & Family Services Centre
Centres operate between 7:30am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, and flexibility may be required to support service needs, across all sites.
A little more about the role
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will work closely with the Educational Leader to provide high-quality education and care for children accessing the service. Programs are informed by the Belonging, Being and Becoming: Early Years Learning Framework and reflect current best practice while supporting the individual needs of each child.
As an Early Childhood Educator, you will:
- Plan, implement and evaluate developmentally appropriate education programs that:
- Respond to the strengths and interests of each child
- Reflect the philosophy of the service and Children’s Services
- Align with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards
- Include indoor and outdoor learning with a focus on education for sustainability
- Build nurturing, respectful relationships with children that recognise their rights, differences and choices
- Provide supervision and personal care while maintaining safe, welcoming environments
- Lead and support other educators as part of a collaborative team
- Document learning, observations and required reports in accordance with CoM policies and regulatory requirements
- Actively contribute to the Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement of the service
- Develop positive partnerships with families and encourage their engagement in the centre community
- Liaise with community services and other City of Melbourne teams to support children and families
- Support and supervise students on placement
- Participate in professional learning, staff meetings and professional conversations
- Maintain compliance with OHS requirements, emergency management procedures and a workplace culture free from bullying, discrimination and harassment
