Community Correctional Services (CCS), part of the Department of Justice and Community Safety, plays a vital role in managing individuals on parole, post-sentence supervision, and court orders. As our client base continues to grow, we are strengthening our services through evidence-based practices-ensuring we focus on the areas that create the greatest impact.

About the role

As the Supervisor, Court Assessment and Prosecutions (Bail and Remand Court), you will lead a dedicated team of Court Assessment and Prosecutions Officers supporting the unique Bail and Remand Court (BaRC) service provided in the Magistrate's Court of Victoria and key stakeholders in the sentencing process. The specialised Bail and Remand Court operates 8:30am to 9pm 7 days a week.

Standard operating hours for this role are Monday - Friday, 9am to 5pm, however some out of hours work to cover the BaRC roster may be required. The successful applicant will be require to adhere to local or regional rostering arrangements and other staffing management practices as directed.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:

Guide, mentor and develop a small, high-performing team
Oversee Court Assessment & Prosecutions Service (CAPS) operations
Ensure effective workload planning and resource allocation
Provide expert court advice to staff and stakeholders
Drive timely, high-quality service delivery and reporting

Your leadership will directly contribute to fair, informed sentencing outcomes and stronger community safety.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role, you will have:

Strong experience in case management frameworks, including needs assessment in a human services setting
Proven ability to lead, support and develop teams in an operational environment
Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
An understanding of court processes and sentencing principles (desirable)

A qualification in social work, human services, criminal justice or criminology-and relevant industry experience-is also desirable.
