Full Job Description

A Pack Shed Supervisor oversees post-harvest packing operations within a pack shed (the facility where produce is sorted, packed, cooled, stored, and dispatched). The main goal of this role is to keep operations running smoothly, maintain excellent product quality, follow all required standards, and confidently lead a hardworking team to success.

Typical responsibilities include:

Supervising pack line activity from unloading fruit to final dispatch, making sure every step is handled carefully and efficiently.

Leading, coaching, and managing pack shed staff performance to build a motivated and productive team.

Tracking and reporting packing performance, waste, and yield efficiency to help improve results and reduce losses.

Ensuring compliance with Workplace Health & Safety (WHS) and Quality Assurance (QA) standards to maintain a safe and high-quality workplace.

Implementing and improving procedures to optimise productivity and strengthen daily operations.

Performing basic maintenance checks on pack line equipment (with technical support) to keep machinery working properly.

Communicating and coordinating with the Harvest Manager and logistics teams on fruit quality and dispatch requirements to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.

Skills & qualifications:

Experience in fruit packing or post-harvest operations (desirable, but some roles may provide training for the right candidate).

Strong leadership, planning, and organisational skills to guide teams with confidence.

Knowledge of cool rooms and temperature-controlled storage to protect product freshness.

Effective communication and team coordination skills to create a positive working environment.

Pay: From $7,500.00 per month
