About the role
This is a fixed term position until 26 February 2027.
The Project Support Officer provides end-to-end project and administrative support to the Manager, Major Projects and the project team, helping deliver significant planning projects and specialist planning advice.

The role supports matters referred to Planning Panels Victoria , assists with public hearings, prepares correspondence, and maintains accurate time recording for cost recovery purposes.

The position liaises with a range of stakeholders including government departments, councils, agencies, , and the community, responding to enquiries professionally and supporting effective stakeholder engagement. It also contributes to improving business operations, shares knowledge across the team, and works collaboratively to deliver key priorities and initiatives.

Builds positive stakeholder relationships by responding promptly to enquiries, providing updates, and resolving issues effectively.
Delivers strong customer service and takes ownership of addressing problems and meeting stakeholder needs.
Works collaboratively with others, sharing information, supporting colleagues, and contributing to team success.
Understands how your work connects with broader processes, people, and systems across the organisation.
Applies sound judgement and problem-solving skills, using established policies and processes while seeking guidance when needed.

Qualifications and experience
You’ll bring:

Relevant qualifications or experience in planning, environmental assessment, law, or a related field.
Experience in an administrative or project support role, with strong organisational and communication skills.
Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro, Microsoft 365, Outlook, and web publishing
Knowledge of the Victorian planning system or government operations is an advantage.

Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa necessary for the nature of the position.
