About the Role
ACESGroup is supporting the ongoing operation of a major Western Sydney precinct and is seeking experienced, motivated, and dependable Security Control Room Operators to join our growing team.
This role forms part of a professional, high-performing security operation responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and efficient environment for staff, contractors, visitors, and stakeholders.
As a Security Control Room Operator, you will ensure the effective coordination of day-to-day security operations and compliance with security operating standards, legislative requirements, site procedures, and emergency response plans.
The role requires extensive stakeholder engagement, exceptional communication skills, strong situational awareness, and the ability to operate and interpret multiple security systems simultaneously.
This is a full-time position, working 12-hour shifts on a 24/7 rotating roster.
Responsibilities and Duties
You will play a critical role in maintaining site safety and security through proactive monitoring, coordination, communication, and incident response.
Key responsibilities:
- Use radio communication systems, phone and liaison techniques to effectively communicate and notify stakeholders as required, including ongoing monitoring of any observations or responses
- Operate CCTV and Access Control System to undertake continuous pro-active surveillance of the facility
- Interpret surveillance systems to detect actual; or potential security breaches, undertaking appropriate response action upon detection.
- Coordinate the security team including perimeter patrol, foot patrol, access control, gatehouse, and loading dock security on site, including scheduled and response actions.
- Coordinate overall security team response, recording and escalation of security observations and reports
- Coordinate emergency response in accordance with response plans
- Administer security systems including after hours access control queries and access control system responses.
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries and assisting stakeholders with a professional demeanour
Essential Criteria
- Minimum 12 months experience working within a Security Control Room, Coordination Centre, or equivalent environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including advanced radio communication capabilities
- Customer service experience with proven conflict resolution and stakeholder engagement skills
- High-level observation, vigilance, and attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks and make sound decisions under pressure
- Strong multitasking capabilities while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision
- Understanding of operational plans, emergency management procedures, safety management systems, and legislative frameworks
- Exceptional personal presentation
- Full availability to work rotating day and night shifts across a 24/7 roster
Qualifications
- NSW Security Licence (1A minimum)
- Certificate II in Security Operations
- Current First Aid and CPR certification
- Current Class C Driver Licence
- Fire Warden and Chief Fire Warden qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Certificate III in Security Operations, Control Room Skill Set (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to successfully complete medical assessments, drug and alcohol screening, and national police checks
- Security Clearance (desirable) or ability to obtain
- Willingness to undertake additional training and qualifications, including Advanced First Aid and specialist site-specific certifications
