NDIS Support Worker – Ignite Support Services QLD
Locations: Mareeba, Cairns & Atherton

Ignite Support Services QLD Pty Ltd is expanding our team and looking for compassionate, reliable, and skilled NDIS Support Workers to join us across Mareeba, Cairns, and Atherton. We provide high‑quality support to participants in both Supported Independent Living (SIL) and Community Access Support (CAS) environments.

About the Role
As a Support Worker with Ignite Support Services, you will provide person‑centred support tailored to each participant’s goals, abilities, and needs. Your day‑to‑day work may include:
- Supporting participants in SIL homes with daily living tasks (ADLs)
- Providing community access, social support, and skill‑building activities
- Promoting participant's independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing
- Assisting participants with personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
- Supporting participants to attend medical appointments, social outings and community activities
- Encouraging independence and promoting choice and control
- Assisting with or administering medications (if trained and authorised to do so)
- Implementing behaviour support strategies (where required)
- Maintaining accurate and professional notes, and following individual support plans
- Reporting any incidents or concerns promptly
Shifts may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and occasional overnights depending on participant needs.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome support workers with a range of abilities, backgrounds, and experience levels. You may be an experienced disability support worker, or you may be new to the sector with the right attitude and willingness to learn.
We are seeking individuals who are:
- Person‑centred, empathetic, and respectful
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently
- Confident in supporting participants with diverse needs (ASD, ADHD, psychosocial, physical disabilities, etc.)
- Strong communicators with a positive, proactive approach
- Able to maintain professional boundaries and uphold NDIS standards
- Previous experience in disability support, community services or similar fields (helpful but not mandatory)
Requirements
To ensure safety, compliance, and quality of care, all applicants must hold or be willing to obtain the following:
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module (Quality, Safety & You)
- Cert 3 Individual Support (preferred)
- Yellow Card (NDIS Worker Screening Check)
- Blue Card (Working With Children Check)
- National Police Check
- Current Driver’s Licence
- Vehicle Registration
- Comprehensive Car Insurance
- Medicare Card
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current First Aid Certificate
- 100 Points of ID
