The Company
Cadence Connect is proud to be partnering with Trilogy Care on a key leadership appointment as they continue an exceptional growth journey. Trilogy Care is a fast-growing, technology-enabled provider operating in the home care sector, supporting more than 14,000 Australians to manage and maximise their Home Care Packages. The business sits at the intersection of healthcare, financial services and technology, giving customers greater transparency, control and outcomes in how their care funding is used.
In just over five years, Trilogy Care has scaled to become one of the largest self-managed home care providers in Australia, experiencing significant year-on-year growth. This growth has been underpinned by a clear set of values, empowering customers, doing the right thing, continuous improvement and leveraging technology to drive better outcomes. These principles show up in how the business operates day-to-day, from its investment in AI and automation through to its focus on building a modern, scalable and high-performing organisation.
This is not a traditional Financial Controller role, it’s an opportunity to shape what a best-in-class finance function looks like in a high-growth, tech-enabled business.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CFO, you will lead the corporate finance function and play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity, operational scalability and meaningful business insight as the organisation continues to grow.
You will oversee a multi-disciplinary team across corporate finance, AP, payroll and emerging AR/collections functions, within a high-volume environment processing. With a dedicated transformation function already in place, your mandate is to partner closely with them to embed automation, AI (including Claude), and smarter ways of working across finance.
Key Focus Areas & Responsibilities
Financial Integrity, Control & Governance
You will own the end-to-end financial control environment ensuring accuracy, completeness and confidence in all financial outputs. This includes leading month end, balance sheet integrity, consolidation, statutory reporting and audit processes, while strengthening internal controls and governance frameworks appropriate for a scaling business. You will act as the trusted gatekeeper of financial information provided to the Board and Executive.
Scalable Finance Operations
You will lead and evolve core finance operations across AP, AR, payroll and corporate accounting. A key focus will be optimising a high-volume AP environment, while establishing and maturing AR and collections capability to improve cash flow, reduce leakage and drive accountability. This is about building processes that are not just effective today, but scalable for continued growth.
Automation, AI & Systems Transformation
A core mandate of the role is to modernise finance through technology. You will partner with the transformation team to embed AI tools and automation into day-to-day finance processes, reducing manual intervention and improving speed and accuracy. You will play a key role in shaping how systems, data and reporting frameworks evolve, ensuring finance becomes more predictive, efficient and insight led.
Commercial Insight & Business Partnering
Beyond control, you will elevate how finance supports decision making. This includes translating financial data into clear, actionable insights, supporting forecasting and performance analysis, and partnering with senior leaders to understand key drivers of the business. You will help shift finance from a reporting function to a proactive, value-adding partner.
Leadership, Capability & Culture
You will lead, mentor and develop a growing finance team, setting clear expectations around ownership, quality and performance. A key part of your role will be uplifting capability, particularly in systems thinking, data literacy and automation while fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and commercial mindset across the function.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking a commercially astute Financial Controller who brings a strong foundation in technical accounting alongside proven experience operating in a complex or high-growth environment. You will be a natural leader who has successfully built and developed teams, while also driving improvements across systems, processes or operating models. You are comfortable working in environments that are evolving, able to balance structure with pragmatism and deliver outcomes without over engineering. Technically strong, you will have deep knowledge across financial control, reporting and compliance, but equally important is your ability to think beyond the numbers, leveraging systems, data and technology to improve how finance operates. Exposure to tools such as Power BI, TM1 or ERP environments will be highly regarded, as will experience with automation or transformation initiatives. Ultimately, you are someone who embraces change, leans into technology (including AI), and is motivated by the opportunity to build something scalable and impactful over time.
