Warehouse Officer

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and organise the warehouse in line with established processes
- Receive, reconcile and monitor stock, including daily stock counts and reordering
- Ensure accurate inventory levels across all Council warehouse locations, including diesel receipting and distribution
- Operate a forklift to load/unload deliveries and manage storage
- Coordinate stock movements, deliveries to job sites, and collection of non-stock items
- Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and in line with service level agreements
- Safely store and handle chemicals, dangerous goods and materials in accordance with relevant legislation and WHS requirements
- Contribute to a safe, healthy and positive workplace environment
- Assist the Warehouse Supervisor with daily operations and provide relief when required
- Support and help train trainees and other warehouse staff
- Provide advice on best practice stock requisition processes across Council
- Carry out tasks as directed by the Warehouse Supervisor
- Undertake other duties within the scope of the role as required
Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Appropriate certificate relevant to warehouse operations.
- Current Queensland ‘’C’’ Class Driver’s licence.
- Current Forklift Operators Ticket.
- Current General Construction “White” Card.
- Practical experience in all aspects of supply chain and warehousing.
- Strong computer literacy skills.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Working knowledge of warehouse management and supply chain to relieve Stores Supervisor if required.
- Sound knowledge of hardware/material items used by Council.
- Working knowledge of safe working practice and manual handling techniques according to the Dangerous Goods and Occupational Health & Safety Acts and regulations pertaining to handling and storage of chemicals, dangerous and inflammable goods.
